- Abstract
It shares some similarities with bullous pemphigoid both in clinical features (such as bullae with erythema, pruritus) and in lab tests (increased total IgE, subepidermal blister with eosinophilic infiltration). Histologically, LABD is characterized by neutrophilic infiltration, sometimes concomitant with eosinophils.[5] All these five cases had neutrophils and eosinophils infiltration in the subepidermal blisters under microscope. Omalizumab is demonstrated to induce eosinophil apoptosis possibly by downregulating IgE receptor on eosinophils.[6] The pathogenesis of LABD is not clear.
