- Abstract
The article offers information on the judicial decision of the U.S. Supreme Court in the case of Kiobel v. Royal Dutch Petroleum, in which the Court analyzed the presumption against extraterritoriality of foreign corporation in the U.S. under the provisions of the Alien Tort Statute (ATS). It also discusses the judicial opinion of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit in the case of Filartiga v. Pena-Irala regarding the protection of human rights of victim of torture globally.
