- Abstract
This issue file presents the rise of the political right stream in Europe. The file considers the period 2012-2022 as the time frame for the study. The file includes two reports, the first under the title "Statistical Analysis of the Rise of the Right political stream in the European Elections Between 2012- 2022", which analyzed the statistical data for some Right political parties in some European countries in the legislative elections, the European Union parliament and presidential elections in the same period. It reviewed the results indicating any increase of the Right gains in the voters' turnout in these elections. In addition, the number of seats for these parties is also considered. The analysis showed that these parties in the domestic parliamentary legislative elections increased in six countries, namely: Germany, France, Spain, Italy, Poland, and Sweden, while there was a relatively small decrease in the voter turnout and the number of seats for the right political parties in Greece and Bulgaria. As for the European Union Parliament elections, the results indicated an increase in voting rates and the number of seats for right political parties in five countries: Germany, Spain, Italy, Poland, and Sweden, and a very slight decrease in voting rates in two countries: France and Greece; whereas in continued on the same voters' pace and seats in Bulgaria. Furthermore, the results indicated an increase in the voter turnout for the right political parties in the presidential elections in France and Poland. The second report is entitled "Indications and Trends of the Rise of the Right political stream in Europe in 2012-2022". The information drew the scene of the rise of the political right stream in Europe during the last decade from an Arab point of view. The report reviewed the political performance of the most prominent parties of that current in a group of countries, which were chosen based on two main criteria: 1) their connection to the Arab world and their importance on the political, economic, and security levels of the European continent. The report brought in many essential results and indications, including the ability of the right political parties in Europe to achieve a shift in their electoral presence and influence right-wing parties in Europe was able to attain essential transitions in their electoral fact and raised the possibility of controlling the policies of many European countries. Such phenomenon raised questions regarding what extent such a rise would affect some of the correct political beliefs regarding refugees, Islamophobia, and conspiracy theories. These indications also aklamrmed the style of populist voters' attitude change in the long run. On the other hand, these newcomers to rule Europe also have their differences, especially at the level of the foreign policy of their countries and the EU. Both reports of the issue file pointed out that this phenomenon and the statistical analysis results need realistic and practical studies to be done. The political, social, and economic angles, and its repercussions on the Arab world and its major issues, such as the Palestinian issue and the trends of Islamophobia, should be analyzed to find out its effects on the internal and external policies of these countries, especially for Islam and the Arab world.
