- Abstract
The article describes the case of cavernous sinus thrombosis in an 86-year-old female secondary to sphenoid sinus fungal ball. Highlights include improvement in the patient's headache postoperatively, her maintenance on outpatient IV infusions of cefepime due to concern for possible bacterial superinfection despite negative cultures, and the patient's recovery with complete resolution of her abducens nerve palsy.
