Education and Popular Sovereignty.
- Authors
MARTIN, ERIC
- Abstract
The author argues that Parti Québécois' (PQ) victory and policy will put a stop to tuition increases in Québec. He cites some positive results of the largest and longest student strike in Québec including the PQ's commitment to repeal Law 12 and suspend the tuition fee increase. He notes some indications of the introduction of a quasi-market logic in the field of higher education including tuition increases, higher student debt and corporate governance reforms.
