- Abstract
The article discusses Soviet filmmaker Sergei Eisenstein's 1931 drawings which depicted the murder of King Duncan in the play "Macbeth" by William Shakespeare. Topics discussed include stylistic lines and compositional strategies in the drawings, political cartoons drawn by Eisenstein during his teenage years which featured caricatures of Kaiser Wilhelm II, and challenges in reconstructing his drawing process.
