The article offers information on using the customer suit exception to prevent abusive patent litigation. Topics discussed include burdening the patent system non-practicing entities (NPEs) for filing infringement lawsuits; passing the America Invents Act (AIA) by the U.S. Congress; and Uniform Commercial Code (UCC) and explicit indemnification clauses in contracts as protective measures for customers.
