- Title
Structure of boundary layers in singular problems.
- Authors
Il'in, A.; Khachai, O.
- Abstract
The article discusses the structure of boundary layers in singular problems. It says that asymptotic series for solutions were obtained as sums of outer asymptotic expansions and series in functions of boundary layers in the first works on ordinary differential equations and partial differential equations. It explains that the thickness of a boundary layer has a power-law dependence on ε. It mentions the introduction of an additional intermediate boundary layer to construct correct uniform asymptotics. It also talks on equating the coefficients of equal powers of the small parameter.
