The article features the platinum group of metals (PGM). It is composed of at least five elements including Platinum (Pt), Iridium (Ir), Osmium (Os), Palladium (Pd), Rhodium (Rh) and Ruthenium (Ru) that occur as single elements (PGE) or as complex alloys. PGM is based on face-centered cubic closest packing that has a steel-gray color with bright luster. It is also a good conductor of electricity, highly resistant to oxidation and an excellent catalyst.
