- Title
I WANT TO BE A NON-PRODUCER: COPYRIGHT NON-PRACTICING ENTITIES AND THE GROUP REGISTRATION PROCESS FOR PHOTOGRAPHS.
- Authors
VIDOVICH, JACK
- Abstract
The author argues that copyright non-practicing entities (NPEs) draw wealth from society while creating nothing of value, focusing on legal claims by NPEs such as Righthaven LLC and the Copyright Enforcement Group (CEG TEK International) which abuse loopholes in American copyright laws. The economics of intellectual property and the impact of the Internet on U.S. copyright laws are mentioned. Social norms and the U.S. Copyright Office's group registration process for photographs are examined.
