- Authors
Paize, F.; Isherwood, David; Honour, J.; Jones, Caroline A.
- Abstract
The article discusses research on the link between abnormalities of adrenal androgen and cortisol metabolites or urinary steroid profiles (USP) and hypertension in four obese boys. It explains the complex relationship between USP and hypertension. Also emphasized is the need for clinicians to consider the possibility that increased urinary cortisol is not due to hypertension. It mentions the importance of a fuller understanding of pathophysiology of obesity-related hypertension to an effective antihypertensive therapy.
