- Title
BEREZINA – FROM GREATNESS TO DOWNFALL – THE PORTRAIT OF NAPOLEON BY SYLVAIN TESSON.
- Authors
ALDEA, Irina Maria
- Abstract
Through his multiple attributes as journalist, poet, geographer, memorialist, Sylvain Tesson makes an original presentation of the The Napoleonian Army as it marches from Moscow to Paris two hundred years ago. In the volume Berezina the author creates an unusual symbiosis between literature and history, so much so that Napoleon’s adventure gets a myth-specific aura. In this article, we have conducted an analysis of Tesson’s work which combines harmoniously the Modernist and extravagant component of his research with a classic, balanced rendition, which could be admired even by a chronicler of ancient times.
