- Abstract
The article focuses on the successes and the failures of the biotechnology patents and science policy in Spain. Topics include the poor use of patenting and other technology transfer tools which serves as a hindrance to solve economic crisis, number of patent application in the country, and biotech patenting in countries with high public investment. Also provided is information regarding the administrative status of biotech patents of private and public entities in the country from 1991-2013.
