- Title
The Legal "Rights"of LGBT Educators in Public and Private Schools.
- Authors
Eckes, Suzanne E.
- Abstract
The article examines the legal issues involved if the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) educators are dismissed from school employment. It states that the educators are allowed to practice their profession in public and private schools regardless of their gender, race, religion or disability. It also states that in light of the Supreme Court’s Obergefell decision on the LGBT equality of rights to marry, LGBT teachers are still being fired because of their sexual orientation.
