- Abstract
The article discusses a study which investigated the role of meteorological factors in the prevalence of paramphistomosis in Pakistan. It cites the analysis of faecal samples of buffaloes and cattle from November 2002 to October 2003 and November 2003 to October 2004. Findings revealed that temperature influences the development of disease, which affects the metabolic process of snail and the parasite. This, in turn, would affect parasite reproduction within the snail, snail growth and snail survival rate. It also mentions the importance of rainfall in the completion of life cycle of paramphistome.
