- Abstract
The article focuses on the case of pituitary dwarfism diagnosed in an individual buried in an Early Bronze Age grave in Tuva. The individual's peculiarities possibly included a clumsy gait, limping, and a barrel-shaped chest, along with the underdevelopment of apophyses of the upper and lower limb bones which must have caused decreased mobility and obesity. Numerous structural disturbances of the bone and cartilage are revealed in the histological examination while clinical manifestations of the malfunction of the anterior pituitary was discovered in the macroscopic and microscopic examination. Tables of the results, such as cranial and postcranial measurements of the pituitary dwarf from Dogehe-Baary-2 compared to unaffected population members, are also provided.
