- Abstract
The Constitution of 1812 caused a notable change in the political and institutional configuration of the Hispanic Monarchy. Its content and meaning must be transmitted to the population in order to it were understood and formally accepted. This pedagogic and institutional task was developed by the organization of diverse programs of festive character in which the necessary act of the oath was included. Some of the ceremonies and celebrations that took place in several Galician and Asturian cities are checked in this paper with the purpose of knowing the resources that were used, their meanings and possible influence in the configuration of a new political mentality.
