- Authors
Omarova, Saule T.
- Abstract
The article argues about an effective model of self-regulation that must serve as a vital supplement for designing government regulation and supervision of financial institutions and activities in the U.S. It sets broader theoretical context for further discussion, in which it highlights some of the key insights that the growing body of academic literature on New Governance has to offer. It examines the rationale for the importance of industry self-regulation during the global financial crisis.
