- Abstract
The article chronicles the involvement of Unitarian Universalists and the Universalist churches in the civil rights movement and in human rights advocacy in the U.S. The political activities of Unitarians and Universalists include lobbying for the passage of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, supporting labor unions in 1969 and same-sex marriage in 1984. The influence of Unitarian Universalists on public policy in 2014 is mentioned.
