- Abstract
The authors examine the relationship bruxism and temporomandibular joint dysfunction (TMD) with primary headaches. They argue that nociceptive trigeminal inhibition (NTI) bite guard for treating tension-type headache or migraine but approve the efficacy of the NTI for short-term use in management of bruxism and myogenous TMDs. They also aver that occlusal appliances are unable to predictably prevent bruxism.
