- Abstract
The article examines the life and career of astronomer William Herschel while living in Bath, England, at the turn of the 19th century. The author explains Herschel's dedication to identifying nebulae as star clusters through extensive astronomical observations as well as his use of a reflector telescope to carry out such observations. Particular emphasis is given to Herschel's experimentation with these telescopes' mirrors. Herschel's difficulties in leasing property are detailed along with his use of his sister Caroline for aiding in his observations.
