- Abstract
A novel load transfer strategy based on the power transfer capability for main-transformer fault is proposed in this paper. First, the distribution network is simplified to a series of main-transformers inter-connected units and the main-transformers linkage matrix is formed. On this basis, the load transfer area is divided into load transfer districts referring to the N − 1 guidelines. Then, the load to be transferred is distributed according to the percentage of the capacity-load ratio of each load transfer district in the total capacity-load ratio. During the distribution process, the capacity constraint of tie line and the load rate of main-transformer are fully considered. Simulation results of a real urban medium voltage distribution network verify the effectiveness of the proposed method in solving the tie line capacity insufficiency and main-transformer overloading problem in traditional load transfer methods. Furthermore, the power transfer capability of the distribution network is improved. Copyright © 2014 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.
