- Abstract
Macfadyena unguis-cati (L.) (Bignoniaceae) is an ornamental climbing plant, widespread in Egypt,America and Western India. It has received much concern for its invasion danger when it was transplanted in non-native countries. However,it has been widely used in folk medicine for anti-inflammatory, antimalarial, dysentery, rheumatism, antivenereal, as well as against snakebite in native country. This review covers research advances on chemical constituents and biological activities of M. unguis-cati in recent years. It aims at making peoples recognize medicinal peoperties of M. unguis-cati, and thus exploit and utilize it.
