- Abstract
We screened a variety of natural products against MERS-CoV as an attempt of developing I anti i -MERS-CoV drugs, and many flavonoids showed I anti i -MERS activities. Total 12 compounds of bavachinin derivatives in four core structures were evaluated to figure out their I anti i -MERS-CoV activity and cell-cytotoxicity by cellular phenotypic screening method as shown in Table. B 2a b was prepared by hydrogenations of external double bonds of B 1a b , which showed the best I anti i -MERS activities regardless of their I O i -substituents. The I anti i -MERS activity of B 6a b was a little decreased compared to B 1a b , however, the I anti i -MERS activities of its derivatives were conserved.
