- Abstract
Objective: To analyze the clinical efficacy of acupuncture combined with herbal medicine in treating cases of female overactive bladder syndrome with spleen and kidney deficiency. Methods: The female overactive bladder patients with spleen and kidney deficiency were divided into two groups, one group was treated with the combination of acupuncture and medicine [electroacupuncture at Zhongliao point (BL33) and Sanyinjiao point (SP6) combined with oral Lingshao Zaoren Formula Granules ], and another group was treated with Western medicine positive drug (Tolterodine Tartrate Sustained Release Tablets). The improvement of the OABSS score of two groups were observed to analyze the clinical efficacy of acupuncture and medicine treatment. Results: After 14 days of treatment, there was a statistically significant difference in OABSS scores between two groups (P < 0.001), and there was no statistical difference between the score of urgency symptoms and the quality of life (P > 0.05). After 28 days of treatment, there were significant differences in OABSS score, urgency symptom score and life quality score between two groups (P < 0.05). Conclusions: Acupuncture combined with traditional Chinese medicine formula on overactive bladder syndrome in women can significantly improve the OABSS score and improve the quality of life of patients.
