- Authors
Bhaduri, Saradindu; Sharma, Aviram; Talat, Nazia
- Abstract
The author focuses on the growth in use of bottled drinking water in India and a simultaneous increase in the home purification technologies. He states that such growth in privatization and commodification of drinking water provisioning without any regulatory measures to control it could be a matter of concern for public health. He states that rapid urbanization and inadequacy of the existing institutional mechanisms for ensuring quality drinking water are crucial to these alternatives.
