- Abstract
The article offers information on the caterpillar fungus Ophiocordyceps sinensis (O. sinensis). It states that O. sinensis is a medicinal fungus found on the Hepialus armoricanus (family Hepialidae), insect caterpillars in the higher hills of the Himalayas mountains which include Nepal, China and India. It also mentions that the availability of its specimen is scant and demands a high labour cost to collect fungus from its natural habitat through laboratory culture.
