Title
Link Found Between Cold European Winters and Solar Activity.
Abstract
The article discusses a study where researchers found a relationship between unusually cold winters in Central Europe and low solar activity. It cites a recent analysis on Germany's Rhine River which revealed a correlation between periods of low activity of the Sun and of some cooling on a limited, regional scale in Central Europe, along the Rhine. It notes that changes in the circulation patterns of the 2 lowest atmospheric levels lead to climatic phenomena like the North Atlantic Oscillation.
