The article focuses on the recent amendment to Rule 1.16(a) of the American Bar Association (ABA) Model Rules of Professional Conduct. It is reported that this amendment requires lawyers to inquire into and assess the facts and circumstances of each representation [of a client] to determine whether the lawyer may accept or continue the representation. It further discusses the implications and potential impact of this amendment.
