The article focuses on the legality of the forced marriage and the choice of law rules regarding annulment of marriage under the Family Law (Scotland) Act 2006 as a Common law principle, and the court case City of Edinburgh Council v S. It mentions that Forced Marriage etc. (Protection and Jurisdiction) (Scotland) Act 2011 does not affect the law of marriage. It also mentions that Anti-Social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014 recognize forcing someone into marriage as a criminal offence.
