- Abstract
The problem of detached flow at the inlet to a round suction flue, where an annular screen is situated within the range of action of the flue, is solved within the framework of the theory of jets of an ideal incompressible liquid. Through numerical realization of the newly constructed mathematical model, it becomes possible to construct streamlines and velocity fields and determine the compression of a jet of detached current as well as the optimal distance of the screen at which minimal thickness of the jet is observed and at which the resistance coefficient at the entrance of the suction medium into the flue is maximal. The results may be used to reduce harmful inflow of air into ventilation systems.
