- Abstract
The article discusses a study which found the prevalence of cephalosporinase-producing Escherichia coli from Danish pig and imported pork samples taken in 2009. Isolates from these samples were characterized for pulsed field gel electrophoresis, multilocus sequence typing (ST), resistance profile, phylotype, clonal group A status, virulence genes and transfer of blaCTX-M genes. Four of the isolates were found to belong to STs that had previously given rise to infections in humans.
