- Abstract
The article discusses a study which examines differential β-lactam resistance response driven by ampD or dacB inactivation in Pseudomonas aeruginosa strains. For the study, researchers analyzed the ampD and dacB knockout mutants of strains PAO1, PA14 and eight genetically untreated ceftazidime-susceptible clinical isolates. They found that dacB inactivation results to heightened β-lactam MICs and ampC and creD overexpression in Pseudomonas aeruginosa strains.
