Title
Microscopy: Seeing the honeycomb.
Abstract
The article cites a study which examined that an atomic force microscope with a crucial modification allows to resolve the positions of individual molecules and the bonds between them. It was investigated after researchers placed a carbon monoxide molecule on the tip of the microscope's sensitive detector. They found that choosing the right molecule for the top scans enabled repulsion due to the electronic exclusion principle to dominate over the blurring.
