- Authors
Schiermeier, Quirin; Tollefson, Jeff
- Abstract
The article presents reactions from members of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) regarding the challenges of reducing and stabilizing greenhouse gas emissions. Peter Metz claimed that the IPCC has underestimated the technological challenge of stabilization which is unwarranted and must be rejected. Richard Tol said that there are a lot of technological progress going on at the IPCC's reference scenarios. Marty Hoffert emphasizes the need for massive engineering effort to solve the problem of climatic change.
