Abstract
The article focuses on artist Florine Demosthene and her works of art. A statement by Demosthene about her interest in the African American female body in contemporary visual culture is presented. Information on the education of Demosthene and the development of her career as an artist is provided. Several of Demosthene's artworks are featured including the ink, charcoal and oil bar on polypropelene "The Lure of the Tenderonies" and "What I Should Have Said."
