- Abstract
Asexuality is a recent sexual orientation in the field of scientific research and a reversal of the societal norm in sex, and it is a fertile field for studying the impact of non- sex on the lives of individuals. Bogaert defined it as the absence of a traditional sexual orientation, which is the lack of sexual attraction to a male or female. Asexuality includes several classifications, including gray and demisexuals, and it also varies from one individual to another in its degree and level. Asexuality is not considered a disorder or dysfunction, and there is no evidence mentioned in the list of sexual disorders. An asexual individual is considered to have a low sexual fantasies, as Storms saw it. for Bogart, he listed a number of features and demographic factors associated with this group. In conclusion, the psychological and mental characteristics of asexual individuals must be studied, and the effect of asexual orientation on the nature of social relationships experienced by the individual.
