The article discusses the reasons why there should not be a Restatement of Environmental Law treatise in America as of January 2014, focusing on the American Law Institute, environmental degradation in the U.S. and around the world, and the legal aspects of greenhouse gas reduction efforts. American judicial opinions in environmental law cases are mentioned, along with Roman law and common law in the U.S. Nuisance laws and the laws associated with air and water pollution are also examined.
