- Title
Mapping Stress in Agricultural Lending.
- Authors
Cowley, Cortney
- Abstract
The article uses data from the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City's Survey of Agricultural Credit Conditions to map the areas with the highest predictive probability of lower repayment rates. Lower crop revenues and higher interest rates are linked with a higher probability of stress in agricultural lending. Why and how repayment rates are used to measure stress in agricultural lending are described. Contribution of regional economic indicators to stress at agricultural banks is discussed.
