- Title
At Least We're Still Free to Choose to Die at Home: A CLASS Act.
- Authors
Frankford, David M.
- Abstract
In this article, the author discusses the significance of a new program of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (ACA), the Community Living Assistance Services and Supports Act, or CLASS Act, for covering long-term care expenses in the U.S. The author says that the CLASS Act, which is a defined-benefit program, seems to be a new resting point in the American ambivalence between private and social responsibility. Also, the CLASS Act is the first step toward national long-term care insurance in the U.S.
