- Abstract
Available epidemiological data are likely to substantially underestimate the prevalence of genital dermatoses[4],[5] owing to patient reluctance to disclose genital symptoms.[3] Thus, the under-representation of CIGD is likely to be even more substantial than demonstrated herein. Https://doi.org/10.1093/bjd/ljac117 Dear Editor, The morbidity of chronic inflammatory genital dermatoses (CIGD) can be disproportionately severe relative to that of dermatoses affecting other sites.[1],[2] Woo I et al i .[1] and de Silva I et al i .[2] found genital atopic dermatitis (GenAD) to have a greater impact on quality of life (QoL) compared with atopic dermatitis (AD) elsewhere, and de Silva I et al i . reported an increased disease burden in patients with psoriasis who had anogenital psoriasis (GenPso), compared with patients with psoriasis who did not have genital involvement. Sex-related impairment and patient needs/benefits in anogenital psoriasis: Difficult-to-communicate topics and their impact on patient-centred care.
