- Abstract
The article focuses on the role of enzymes in redox regulation by glutathione. Topics covered include a comparison between the significance of reaction kinetics and thermodynamics in the redox regulation, examples of low molecular mass compounds, and two aspects which characterize reactions in living organisms. Also cited are events required by enzyme-based redox signaling like reversible sensor modification and activation of transducer and effector molecules.
