- Abstract
The article presents information about some research papers on sociology of marriage and family behavior. Some of these papers include "Study of the Role Performance of the Unwed Mother," by Louise Bainin, Beverly Culler and Edward Sainer, "Matrimonial Rules of the Netsilik Eskimos," by Asen Balikli, "Model of Family Authority Among Alcoholics," by Nicole Beauregard-Leroux, "Cohabitation in Montreal," by Claudette Belaire, "Conditions of Life, Family Contacts, and Social Contacts of Old People," by Gisébec Blauin. The paper "Study of the Role Performance of the Unwed Mother" evaluative study of the success of French-Canadian foster mothers. It is based on questionnaires to, and records of, 45 foster mothers, and ratings of foster mothers by social workers. Comparison of findings of French-Canadian study with those of an American study is also given. In the paper "Matrimonial Rules of the Netsilik Eskimos" anthropological study of matrimonial rules in a tribal society, and of societal and individual factors in selection of mates is given. The paper also presents interviews with members of Netsilik Eskimo tribe.
