- Abstract
The article discusses the court case Public Employee Retirement Administration Commission v. Bettencourt where Bettencourt, the police officer of Peabody Police Department in Massachusetts, charged a sentence to imprison after he gain unauthorized access to the state civil service computer system. The Peabody Retirement Board held a hearing regarding the potential forfeiture of Bettencourt's pension. The Supreme Judicial Court disagrees the public pension forfeitures.
