Abstract
The article discusses issues related to professional learning of mathematics. Topics discussed include need to develop students' understanding of number relationships and the use of different strategies for multiplication of 1, 2 and 3-digit whole numbers and relational thinking, daily practice of multiplication strategies and relational thinking practices through daily mental math and need to solve equivalence reasoning tasks by students.
