The article analyzes the problems inherent in immigration enforcement policies in the U.S. that empower local police to enforce federal immigration law. It discusses the adoption and implementation of Section 287 (g) of the U.S. Code and how such law undermines the rule annunciated in the case Terry v. Ohio. The author encourages Danbury, Connecticut officers to repeal Section 287(g) authority.
