- Abstract
The article presents information on the first data related to juvenile Atlantic bonito Sarda sarda in Adriatic Sea. It reports that Sarda sarda is one of the most widely found species of small tuna, distributed in the Adriatic Sea, Black Sea, Atlantic Ocean, and Mediterranean Sea. It informs that the Sarda sarda specimens for the study were collected in August 2005 from the Zrmanja River estuary. It states that the results showed a positive allometric growth of Sarda sarda juveniles. It is determined from t-test that the proposed hypothesis of isometric growth for these specimens was rejected. It is found from the study that both juvenile and adult specimens of Sarda sarda showed proportionally more pronounced growth in weight than in length.
