- Abstract
This article presents the results of a postdoctoral research that aimed to strengthen the argumentative skills of young university students in Envigado, Colombia. Six workshops were conducted based on entrance tests, where participants were able to strengthen their argumentative skills and recognize their usefulness in academic tasks and civic participation. The importance of identifying discursive manipulations and argumentative fallacies is highlighted, as well as the ability to write with cohesion and coherence. Additionally, the difficulty of psychology students in reading academic texts and the influence of social and cultural factors on academic performance are mentioned. Finally, a list of bibliographic references related to argumentation and argumentative skills in different educational contexts is provided.
