- Abstract
The article discusses the social aspects of English language readers in the Philippines from 1905 through 1932, including "The Philippine Readers" series, by the nationalist and superintendent of Philippine schools Camilo Osias. An overview of the U.S.'s use of educational readers to manage nationalism within its Philippine colony is provided.
