Drainage devices yield mixed results in eyes with post-keratoplasty glaucoma.
- Authors
Hasson, Matt
- Abstract
The article focuses on a study conducted by physician Ramesh S. Ayyala and colleagues published in a 2014 issue of the "Journal of Glaucoma" which found that glaucoma drainage devices provide the maximum intraocular pressure (IOP) reduction, highest glaucoma surgery success rate and lower vision loss rates than trabeculectomy and laser cyclophotocoagulation in patients with post-keratoplasty glaucoma. It notes that such devices were linked to higher graft failure rates than the two procedures.
